This heritage extension carefully balances the original Art Deco character of the existing home with a contemporary rear addition. The retained front portion preserves the building’s distinctive heritage identity, while the new extension introduces a lighter and more open architectural language. A dramatic cathedral roof defines the new living spaces, creating a strong sense of volume and drawing natural light deep into the interior. Large glazed openings strengthen the connection between the indoor living areas and the rear garden, while the restrained material palette allows the new work to remain clearly contemporary without competing with the original house. The result is a thoughtful transition between old and new, combining heritage character with modern family living.
